Do You Need More Clients?

Most of the entrepreneurs that I coach highlight this one pain point as a priority in their businesses: “I need more clients!”

If you are in the same boat, here are 3 chalkboard questions and ideas on client acquisition for you to ponder in your creative time this week:

  1. How can I create more value for and from the clients I ALREADY have?

Before focusing on acquiring new clients, how can you create more value for the ones you already have? What new offerings, new combination of services or improved value of service can you provide to your existing customers?

Remember, people are far more likely to purchase from someone they have already done business with in the past and that they already know, like and trust.

And never forget that existing clients are your biggest marketing resource – word of mouth marketing is very powerful and costs you nothing extra. So be the best you can be for the clients you already have.

2. What “basic lines” can I create?

Grocery stores stock basic items that customers need regularly like bread and milk at low-profit margins to draw customers in, consistently. Once the customers are in the store to stock up on these (usually at the back of the store) they see and might want to buy other more luxurious items at higher markups. Regardless of your business type, what basic lines could you create or offer to do the same?

3. What strategic partnerships can I explore?

Symbiotic strategic partnerships are a great way to unlock new markets for you – companies that have already built up a customer base can share this with you on partnership projects where your complimentary skillsets make your combined offering even more attractive, or you can enter mutually beneficial service contracts where you help increase your partner’s capacity to deliver to their clients, while you gain locked-in work opportunities.

What contacts do you already have that might collaborate with you? What new contacts can you approach?
